The movie is an adaptation of the book written by Ernest Cline, and it will be released on March 30th, 2018. I'm a fan of Pegg, and there's no doubt he'll be great in the movie. Pegg and Spielberg worked together on the film The Adventures of Tintin, and it's great the two will be working together again. I love Spielberg's storytelling style, and I'm looking forward to seeing some of his signature magic up on the big screen again. I'm really excited about this movie, and I can't wait to see what Spielberg does with it. Pegg's character Orgen is the co-creator of this Oasis virtual world. The story is set in a virtual world called Oasis, and it centers on a teenager (Sheridan) who finds himself competing in a treasure hunt against ruthless individuals after the game's founder dies and offers his fortune as the grand prize to the winner. Pegg will join the previously cast Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, and Ben Mendelsohn. The actor is currently in negotiations to play a character named Orgen Morrow. He is repped by UTA, Hansen Jacobson, and Dawn Sedgick Management in the UK.It looks like Simon Pegg will be joining Steven Spielberg's next sci-fi film project, Ready Player One. He will next appear in this summer’s Star Trek Beyond as Starfleet engineer Scotty.
He was most recently “seen” as Unkar Plutt in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and last summer’s Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. Pegg and Spielberg previously worked together on The Adventures of Tintin. Spielberg produces through Amblin along with Donald De Line, Kristie Macosko Krieger, and Dan Farah. Production is expected to begin in the summer with a premiere date set by Warner Bros. Pegg would play Ogden Morrow, the co-creator of OASIS.
