

Following gerontology research at the University of Kansas and University Wisconsin-Milwaukee, she joined UNO's gerontology faculty in 2004. After working in Federal (including service in the US Army Reserve) and International public service (in the United Nations International Civil Service Commission), she earned an M.P.A. in Psychology from American University (1964). She has published articles in several journals, including "The Gerontologist," "Educational Gerontology," "Gerontology and Geriatrics Education", "Quality in Ageing and Older Adults" and "Public Performance Management Review". Holley's research helps improve services for elders - in general and for minority elders, and helps improve intergenerational relationships. She has received awards for teaching excellence that include the 2009 UNO Alumni Association Teacher of the Year Award, the 2010 UNO Faculty Service Learning Award and nomination for the 2014 OTICA. A member of the UNO Thompson Learning Community, Graduate Faculty, Native American Studies Faculty (Executive Council), Honors Faculty, and Medical Humanities Faculties. All her classes are highly interactive and most give students the opportunity to apply what they learn through service to the community and their profession. She teaches gerontology, the study of older adults and aging.
